Promoting sport and enhancing health in European Union countries

a policy content analysis to support action

The aim of this document is to support advances in policy-making for physical activity promotion by highlighting recent national policy developments in the area of sports promotion, with a focus on synergies and discrepancies with the promotion of health-enhancing physical activity. The document presents and discusses the main results of a content analysis of the most recent national sports strategies in the Member States of the European Union and suggests ten key points for policy-makers.
