Poolspace
a deconstruction and reconfiguration of public swimming pools
McLachlan, F.H. (2012). Poolspace: a deconstruction and reconfiguration of public swimming pools. Dunedin, New Zealand: University of Otago.
In this thesis the author considers the plight of public swimming pools. She adopts a loose framework which is centred on deconstruction and reconfiguration. In particular she uses the guiding concepts – representations, foundations, and subjectivity to make the pool, something that appears ordinary and certain, extraordinary and uncertain.
