De Europese Commissie heeft voor de jaren 2007-2013 een actieprogramma opgesteld voor de bescherming van gezondheid en consumenten. Ten aanzien van gezondheid liggen de prioriteiten onder meer bij het bevorderen van gezondheidsbeleid en het beschermen van burgers tegen gezondheidsrisico's.
